The asset
Native currency of the Bitcoin Cash network (SHA-256 proof of work), created by a split (hard fork) of the Bitcoin network on August 1, 2017 Issuer: No issuer: open-source network; according to the Grayscale fund's SEC filing, no official developer or group of developers controls it.
BCH is used to pay on the Bitcoin Cash network. The supply is capped at 21 million BCH; the block reward is 3.125 BCH. As of October 6, 2026 (23:49 UTC), CoinGecko reports 20.10 million BCH in circulation, a price of €276.90 and a market capitalization of €5.57 billion (rank 22).

Tolerance case
T1. BCH is the native currency of an open network (maintained by its users, with no owning entity); it is a payment network, like the bitcoin it came from, which may qualify the word “general-purpose” in the T1 case. There is no issuer receiving revenue: T2 and T3 not applicable.
